The cross-braced construction still handles the full weight of a loaded 55-gallon barrel — roughly 460 pounds — without racking or shifting. Cedar is naturally rot-resistant and weathers to a silver-gray that blends with most outdoor settings. Fits barrels up to 24 inches in diameter. The 18 inches of elevation provides enough head pressure to push water through a soaker hose across garden beds without a pump, which is the entire point of elevating a rain barrel in the first place.
